Day 1 :

Arrival & Lemosho Gate

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by your professional mountain guide and transferred to the Lemosho Gate (2,100m). After registration, the trek begins through lush rainforest filled with tropical birds, monkeys, and giant ferns. This first day is a gentle introduction to the mountain as you make your way to Big Tree Camp, where you will spend your first night under the stars.

Day 2 :

Lemosho Glades to Shira 1 Camp

Today you ascend from the rainforest into the Shira Plateau, enjoying wide-open views and unique alpine vegetation including giant groundsels and lobelias. The hike is moderately challenging, allowing your body to acclimatize to higher altitude. You will camp overnight at Shira 1 Camp (3,500m), surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery.

Day 3 :

Shira 1 to Shira 2 Camp

The trek continues across the Shira Plateau, one of Kilimanjaro’s most scenic areas. On clear days, you will have panoramic views of Kibo and Mount Meru. The trail is gentle and allows for excellent acclimatization before reaching Shira 2 Camp (3,850m) for the night.

Day 4 :

Shira 2 Camp to Barranco Camp via Moir Hut

From Shira 2, the route ascends to Moir Hut (4,200m) before traversing the moorlands towards the famous Barranco Wall. Along the way, enjoy the unique high-altitude landscapes and occasional wildlife sightings. You will camp at Barranco Camp (3,960m), preparing for the next day’s exciting climb.

Day 5 :

Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

The highlight of the day is climbing the iconic Barranco Wall, a thrilling scramble with breathtaking views. After descending, the trail continues through the Karanga Valley toward Karanga Camp (4,000m). This day combines adventure with stunning scenery and excellent photo opportunities.

Day 6 :

Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

The trek from Karanga leads into the alpine desert as you approach the base of Kibo Peak. The terrain becomes increasingly rocky and arid, preparing you for summit night. You will arrive at Barafu Camp (4,600m) in the afternoon to rest, enjoy dinner, and get ready for the early morning ascent.

Day 6 :

Summit Day – Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak & Descend to Mweka Camp

Summit day begins around midnight with a slow, steady climb through the cold and dark. By sunrise, you will reach Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the glaciers and surrounding plains. After taking photos and celebrating, you will descend to Barafu Camp for rest, then continue down through alpine moorlands and rainforest to Mweka Camp (3,100m) for the night.

Day 7 :

Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate & Departure

On the final day, you trek through the rainforest to Mweka Gate, where you will receive your official Kilimanjaro summit certificate. From here, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Moshi or Kilimanjaro International Airport, completing your unforgettable Northern Circuit Kilimanjaro adventure.
