4 Days Serengeti Migration Safari

Your journey begins with an early morning departure from Arusha. Depending on your preference, you can travel by road or take a scenic flight to the Kogatende Airstrip in the northern Serengeti. Upon arrival, you’ll be met by your safari guide, who will transfer you to your lodge or tented camp. After a brief rest and lunch, embark on your first game drive in the northern Serengeti. This region is famous for its rolling plains, scattered woodlands, and the Mara River, where the Great Migration’s river crossings take center stage. Witness herds of wildebeest and zebras gathering near the riverbanks as they prepare to cross, braving the dangers of crocodiles and swift currents. As the sun sets, return to your camp or lodge for dinner and relaxation, surrounded by the sounds of the Serengeti’s nocturnal wildlife.

Begin your day with an early breakfast before heading out for a full-day game drive dedicated to the Great Migration. Explore migration hotspots along the Mara River, where the dramatic river crossings occur. Your guide will position you strategically to maximize your chances of witnessing this incredible natural event. Break for a picnic lunch in the wilderness, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes and the calls of wildlife. The afternoon offers more opportunities to explore the northern Serengeti, with its abundant wildlife including elephants, giraffes, buffalo, and various bird species. Predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards are frequently seen hunting or resting in the area. Return to your camp or lodge in the evening, where you can relax and enjoy a delicious dinner under the stars.

Enjoy another full day in the northern Serengeti, beginning with a morning game drive to catch the wildlife in its most active hours. Spend time exploring different sections of this region, each offering unique encounters and photographic opportunities. The northern Serengeti is known for its relatively undisturbed landscapes, providing an intimate experience with nature.

Pause for a picnic lunch before continuing your safari. In addition to the migrating herds, keep an eye out for other iconic species such as hippos and crocodiles in the Mara River, as well as hyenas, jackals, and vultures interacting with the herds.

On your final day, enjoy an early breakfast followed by a morning game drive in the Kogatende area. Use this last opportunity to capture stunning views of the Serengeti and its wildlife as the sun rises over the plains. By mid-morning, transfer to the Kogatende Airstrip for your scheduled flight back to Arusha. Upon arrival at Arusha Airport, you’ll be met by our driver, who will take you to town for lunch at a local restaurant. Depending on your onward travel plans, you’ll either be dropped off at your hotel or the airport for your departure.
