Day 1 :

Arrival in Moshi / Arusha

Arrive in Moshi or Arusha and meet your mountain guide for a full pre-climb briefing and equipment check. This day allows you to rest, adjust to the altitude, and prepare mentally and physically for your Kilimanjaro adventure. Overnight at your hotel in Moshi or Arusha.

Day 2 :

Machame Gate – Machame Camp

After breakfast, drive to Machame Gate (1,800m), complete park registration, and begin your trek through lush rainforest. The 5–6 hour hike leads to Machame Camp (2,835m), surrounded by giant trees and tropical vegetation. Along the trail, you may spot blue monkeys and colorful birds. Dinner and overnight at Machame Camp.

Day 3 :

Today, you leave the rainforest behind and ascend into the moorland zone, hiking up a rocky ridge to the Shira Plateau (3,850m). The 4–6 hour trek offers incredible views of Mount Meru and the Shira Cathedral. Dinner and overnight at Shira Camp, where the temperature starts to drop as you gain altitude.

Day 4 :

Shira Camp – Lava Tower – Barranco Camp

After breakfast, ascend to the Lava Tower (4,630m) for acclimatization before descending to Barranco Camp (3,960m) for the night. This 6–7 hour trek follows the “hike high, sleep low” principle, helping your body adapt to the altitude. Enjoy dramatic landscapes and a great view of the towering Barranco Wall. Dinner and overnight at Barranco Camp.

Day 5 :

Barranco Camp – Karanga Camp

Start your morning by tackling the famous Barranco Wall, a fun and scenic climb that rewards you with spectacular views of the mountain. The trek continues across ridges and valleys before reaching Karanga Camp (3,995m). This short 4–5 hour hike helps with acclimatization and provides rest before the final push to the summit. Dinner and overnight at Karanga Camp.

Day 6 :

Karanga Camp – Barafu Camp (Christmas Eve)

After breakfast, trek through the rocky alpine desert to Barafu Camp (4,670m), your base for the summit attempt. The 3–4 hour trek gives you time to rest and prepare for your midnight ascent. Enjoy an early dinner and settle into your tent as you get ready to climb to the top of Africa just in time for the Christmas Eve sunrise.

Day 7 :

7: Summit Day – Uhuru Peak – Descent to Mweka Camp / Moshi

Around midnight, begin your final ascent toward Stella Point (5,685m) and continue to Uhuru Peak (5,895m). Reach the summit just before dawn and celebrate Christmas Eve with a magical sunrise from the highest point in Africa. After taking photos and enjoying the views, descend back to Mweka Camp (3,100m) for a well-earned rest. Later, continue down to Mweka Gate, where you’ll receive your summit certificates and transfer back to Moshi or Arusha for a warm shower and celebration dinner.
