3-Day Kigali City Tour and Mountain Gorilla Trek

On the first day, you will arrive in Kigali, Rwanda’s vibrant capital, where you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel to check in and refresh. In the afternoon, embark on a guided city tour to explore Kigali’s rich history and culture. Visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, a moving site that tells the story of Rwanda’s past and the resilience of its people. You will also explore local craft markets, where artisans sell handmade products and souvenirs. For those interested in cultural immersion, an optional visit to the Nyamirambo Women’s Cooperative offers insight into daily life in Kigali’s bustling neighborhoods. After a day of discovery, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant and spend the night in Kigali.

After an early breakfast, you will depart for Volcanoes National Park, located approximately 2–3 hours from Kigali. Upon arrival, participate in the gorilla trekking briefing, where experienced guides will explain safety rules, trekking tips, and what to expect during the encounter. Then begins the mountain gorilla trek, a remarkable journey through dense forests and scenic trails. Trekking times vary depending on the gorillas’ location, but the experience culminates in an unforgettable opportunity to spend up to one hour observing a gorilla family in their natural habitat. After your trek, return to your lodge for lunch and some relaxation, with an optional nature walk to enjoy the park’s stunning surroundings.
