2 Days Mount Meru Hiking from Arusha

Your journey begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Arusha and transfer to Arusha National Park. After registration at Momella Gate, you’ll meet your professional guide and armed ranger, then start your hike. The trail passes through lush montane forest, where you may spot monkeys, giraffes, and buffaloes. Stop for a picnic lunch on the way before continuing to Miriakamba Hut (2,500m), your overnight stop. Dinner and overnight stay at the hut.

Wake up to the sounds of the forest and enjoy breakfast at the hut before beginning your hike towards Saddle Hut (3,570m). Along the way, enjoy spectacular views of Mount Meru’s crater and the ash cone, with possible sightings of wildlife on the slopes. Depending on your pace and preference, you can hike up to Little Meru (3,820m) for breathtaking panoramas of Mount Kilimanjaro. After the hike, descend back to Momella Gate, where your driver will be waiting to transfer you back to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon.
