Arrive in Addis Ababa and meet your birding guide. Afternoon birding in city parks or Entoto Hills, targeting highland species.

Day 2 :

Addis Ababa – Debre Libanos & Jemma Valley

Drive north to Debre Libanos Monastery and the Jemma Valley, one of Ethiopia’s best birding areas.
Key birds: Gelada, White-billed Starling, Rüppell’s Black Chat, Lammergeier.
Overnight: Lodge or hotel near Debre Libanos.

Day 3 :

Debre Libanos – Rift Valley Lakes

Travel south into the Great Rift Valley, birding around Lake Ziway and Lake Langano.
Key birds: African Fish Eagle, Great White Pelican, kingfishers, waders.
Overnight: Lodge at Lake Langano.

Day 4 :

Rift Valley Lakes – Awash National Park

Continue east to Awash National Park, birding en route. Afternoon game drive in savannah and acacia woodland habitats.

Yabello & Mega Area

Full day birding in the Yabello–Mega region, famous for endemics.

Yabello – Rift Valley / Hawassa

Return north toward the Rift Valley, birding en route around Lake Hawassa.

Hawassa – Addis Ababa & Departure
