Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, where you will be met by your experienced guides. After a brief orientation and safety briefing, transfer to your hotel for check-in and overnight stay. This day is designed to help you rest, acclimatize, and prepare for the upcoming trekking adventure.

Drive from Nairobi to Mount Kenya National Park, entering the lush forests and scenic slopes of Africa’s second-highest peak. Begin your trek along the Chogoria Route, one of the most beautiful paths on Mount Kenya, passing through bamboo forests, streams, and waterfalls. Arrive at Chogoria Camp, where you will enjoy dinner and overnight stay, surrounded by breathtaking alpine scenery.

Continue your ascent through the alpine moorlands and rocky landscapes of Mount Kenya. Encounter unique flora and fauna along the way, including giant lobelias and mountain baboons. Reach Lake Ellis Camp, a high-altitude stop with panoramic views of surrounding peaks. Overnight at the camp, resting for the summit push the following day.

Start early for the summit of Mount Kenya’s highest peaks, including Batian or Nelion (depending on trekking route and group experience). Enjoy stunning views of glaciers, valleys, and alpine landscapes. After the summit experience, descend to Mintos Hut for dinner and overnight, reflecting on the accomplishment of climbing Africa’s second-highest mountain.

Complete the descent through Mount Kenya’s scenic slopes, returning to the park entrance. Transfer back to Nairobi for rest and overnight stay at a comfortable hotel. This day allows for recovery and preparation for the Kilimanjaro climb in Tanzania.

Travel to Moshi, Tanzania, the gateway town for Kilimanjaro National Park. Settle into your hotel, meet your Kilimanjaro guides, and attend a briefing on the trek. Check your trekking gear, review the itinerary, and enjoy a relaxing evening before starting the ascent. Overnight in Moshi.

Drive to Marangu Gate, the official start point of the Marangu Route. Register with park authorities before beginning your trek through lush rainforest, home to exotic birds and monkeys. The trail gradually ascends through bamboo groves and mossy forests, providing beautiful scenery and wildlife spotting. Reach Mandara Hut in the late afternoon, where you enjoy dinner and overnight accommodation in a shared hut or dormitory.

After breakfast, continue trekking through the Montane and Moorland zones, leaving the dense forest behind and entering higher altitude landscapes. The trail becomes progressively steeper, passing giant lobelias, heathers, and alpine meadows. Arrive at Horombo Hut, the main acclimatization camp, in the late afternoon. Take time to rest, hydrate, and enjoy panoramic views of Kilimanjaro’s slopes. Dinner and overnight at Horombo Hut.

Begin early for a steady trek through alpine desert terrain, with increasingly rugged landscapes and volcanic rocks. Reach Kibo Hut, the high-altitude base camp, and prepare for the midnight summit attempt. Spend the day resting, hydrating, and adjusting to the altitude, as the climb to Uhuru Peak requires endurance and careful acclimatization. Dinner and overnight at Kibo Hut.

Today is “The Big Day” - the summit stage. You will begin your final ascent around midnight which will be long and strenuous. Passing the Hans Meyer Cave at 5220m, the climb slowly but surely goes upwards. At sunrise, you will reach Gillman’s Point (5681m) – the crater rim of Kilimanjaro – where the sun will slowly start to warm up the land. You will have soon forgotten the cold of the night and after a further hike of 1 - 2 hours, you will reach Uhuru Peak at 5895m. On your return to Kibo Hut, a warm meal awaits you followed by a 1 - 2 hour break before proceeding back down to Horombo Hut.

The last stage passes through the heath and moor zone to the Mandara Hut (2700m) where a warm lunch is waiting for you. Soon, you will once again pass the tropical rainforest and after a total time of 6 hours trekking, you will be back at the Kilimanjaro National Park Gate (1860m). After saying goodbye to your mountain guides, a short transfer follows to take you back to your hotel in Moshi. Once there, you can take a warm and relaxing shower and celebrate your success in reaching the summit of the Kilimanjaro.
